High School Teens Putting Their Faith in Action

Open to All High School Teens of our Parish

Community service is more than just fulfilling a school or sacramental obligation. It’s not about how many ‘hours’ we do but how we choose to reach out to the world around us. It’s about helping to make a small difference in another person’s life.  It’s giving a family who has been at the hospital all day long a chance to sit as a family and eat a home cooked meal that you prepared. It’s taking the time to reach out to our shut-ins who may not have anyone to help rake the leaves in the fall or shovel snow in the winter. It’s knowing that one peanut butter and jelly sandwich will be appreciated more by someone who is never sure where their next meal is coming from. It’s about collecting new back to school items for children who are in low income neighborhoods and may not be able to afford a new ruler or crayon set. It’s about putting our faith into action in the smallest of ways.

We each have a chance to make a difference within our family and our community. Each of us has the ability to change the world in smallest of ways through our everyday actions and out attitudes towards one another. We each have a chance to make a difference.
